>> THE THEORY TEST
The Theory Test includes answering 50 multiple choice questions and completing an interactive visual hazard perception test. Both parts of the test have to be completed and passed at the same session. The cost of the Theory Test is £28.00.

The Theory Test looks at:
  •  alertness and attention when you are driving
  •  attitude towards other road users
  •  safety and your vehicle
  •  judgement and hazard perception
  •  vulnerable road users
  •  risks when dealing with different types of vehicles
  •  handling of your vehicle in different conditions
  •  rules of the road and road and traffic signs
  •  documents needed for drivers and vehicles
  •  what to do in the event of an accident
  •  safety of loads

There are 50 multiple choice questions in the test. To pass the test you must answer 43 of the 50 questions correctly. You also have to complete at the same session a Hazard Perception Test. This is an interactive test in which you have to anticipate hazards on the road.

Easy 2 Drive can help you with both parts of the theory test and give you a chance to practice using a computer if you do not have one at home.

Local theory test centres are Preston, Bolton and Wigan. DSA bookings and enquiries can be contacted by telephone on 0870 01 01 372 and on the internet at www.dsa.gov.uk.
